A more human mother - UPDATING Introduction secuence
Making a more human mother.
In the last version of our game, we added a kind of narrative sequence, mimicking the style of a text adventure. In this sequence, the player have an interaction shot the character of “mother” (“mamá” in the Spanish version), and after rereading of this part during playtest, we find the character of the mother was very “black or withe” like, simple, unilateral, even teenage-“no one understands me”-like. We want to have a character more complex and more morally gray, but still with this element of negation. So we incorporate in the character this honest desire of trying to understand her child, but with a remarkable lack of tools to doing it.

In this new version, the mother is seeing like a more empathetic figure, less cruel, but with a human lack of knowledge of what is happening to her child, with a little desire of understand them, but at the same time, going through its own stage of denial (stages of grief), which are necessary to reach the stage of acceptance, and look at their own child with eyes love and understanding.
